Ok, so today was great! I went to the gym and ran over 2.5 miles and burned almost 400 calories! woo hoo! And then I went to my nanny job and got asked to got to Florida with the nanny family! Yay!!! I got down to 167.0 this morning, and I feel great. I didn't indulge in any food, but I did have a few drinks this Friday evening. So, we'll see what happens in the morning.
Also, I decided that I'm going to up my steps to 12,000 instead of 10,000. That means an extra long walk with a dog, or a short work out. I've got six weeks before my first maid of honor wedding! I'm feeling good!

Ugh....
So I haven't been as good with eating lately. My mom and sisters came into town and we ate out alot. I also didn't get to go to the gym while they were there. And with my digestive issues, my mom talked me into taking stool softeners instead of my few times a week laxatives. However, I still haven't pooed in three days!!! So I'm back to 168.8 this morning. UGH!!! I'm so upset! So, if I don't go by tonight, I'll take another laxative. I'm feeling bloated and gross, and all my 5 weddings are so soon!!! Ugh.

I'm back!! 3-17
Ahh!! It feels good to blog again! I’m sorry for my absence; we can thank a super horrible cold that knocked me on my feet for that!! I also missed a few days of blogging, but I decided that it wasn’t something so horrible that I needed to beat myself up over it. So, with a fresh start, here’s what’s been going on!!!
Yesterday was a pig out day! I had the evening to myself with the hubby out of town! I did go to the gym and run for 30 min and do weights. I had planned to go back last night and do more, but some girly movies and a glass of wine was calling my name : )
The awesome thing is that this morning, when I got on the scale, I was 167.2 pounds!!!!! I’ve lost 4 pounds this month! I think I’m going to make my 5 pounds a month goal this month!
I’ve also found that when I work, I hit the 10,000 steps goal easily! So, on days that I work, I’m bumping it up to 12,000.
This morning I got up early, ran two miles, and did weights! However where I put the pedometer this morning was apparently to high and it didn’t register my steps! Either that or it popped open while I was running, and for some reason it doesn’t count steps when it’s opened up…. So that’s that! And we’ll see where we are tomorrow!!! Woo hoo!!!!

And then... there's the first "off" day...
So Yesterday didn’t go very well. There were lots of good things, but some not so good things.
The day started off great when I went to work at my nanny job. It was crazy! At 8 am I was outside shooting baskets with a two year old, lifting her up above me to score, running around like a crazy person and totally keeping up with her. It was awesome!!! I felt so good and had so much energy. I knew that was because I was drinking water, getting my 10,000 steps, and was eating things that were giving me energy. I didn’t need to have coffee or a Red Bull.
Then I had lunch with my good friend, Heidi. We went to Red Robin and I got some kind of apple walnut grilled chicken salad. I knew it was probably one of those dishes that looks healthy but really isn’t. But, I didn’t know what else to do! I wish that they had the nutrition info on the menu at places. Anyways, then I went to Shoe Carnival and bought some workout shoes!!! My Dad called and said he wanted to buy them for me : ) My parents are so awesome : ) So I found a great deal, and I wore them around last night to try and break them in. If I could wear them to work today at the bridal shop I would : ) It feels so strange to wear a shoe that actually supports your feet! Haha.
Then I cam home, and crashed. I laid on the couch and did nothing, and what’s worse, I got 5-6 strawberries and put cream cheese frosting on them and ate them. Ugh! But hey, I knew I was going to slip up, so I’m cool with it. Phil came home, we had dinner, and then I went out to a friends for Friday Night Girl Night! I had some drinks, and chips and salsa. But I was really proud of myself because I stayed away from the brownies!!! Then I came home and crashed…. And this morning I realized I got a dot of salsa on my new shoelace…. I need one of those Tide stain remover pens. PRONTO.
What I ate:
1 Yoplait Light yogurt
¾ cup grapenuts
1 Olive Garden breadstick
Apple Walnut Grilled Chicken Salad from Red Robin
5-6 strawberries with cream cheese frosting
1 BLT from Sonic
½ brownie
Chips and salsa (I have no idea how many)
3 rum and cokes
Water:
All 5 bottles!!! Plus another half!
Steps:
4,800. How pathetic is that...
Weight:
169.8

Best Day Ever!!!
March 3rd-
So yesterday was a WONDERFUL day!!! It’s amazing how God continues to bless Phil and I. We totally don’t deserve any of it, which makes Him even more awesome : )
Among many things that happened, Phil (who is transferring to a new job within his current company in July) found out that he’s getting a $2000 raise on top of the raise he was already getting! With all of our student loans, that is going to be amazing!!!!! When he called to tell me the news, the first thing out of his mouth was “Why don’t you go buy yourself a gym membership today?”
Ahh… the struggle with the gym membership. I have been trying for weeks to figure out how I can swing it. As a recent college grad, newlywed, with $50,000 in student loans, it was hard to justify $20-$40 a month on a gym. I hate running outside, so I walk. I’ve done workout videos at home, but it’s just not the same. I loved the gym at The University of Tulsa where I graduated. I love the machines and the elliptical, and it’s not the same trying to get the effect from home.
When Phil said I could get one I literally cried on the phone! I was amazed at how he was so willing to give me just what I needed. Most importantly I realized I had his full support in my dream to be healthy. So I started the gym search and found Fit For Her on Peoria and 41st. I went and visited the week before and LOVED it!!! It is so clean, tons of machines, and an all women’s gym so you’re not creeped out by the stalker gym guys. Ahh!!!! Heaven!!!
So, I’m going today to get a three-month membership and get in shape!!! I’m Maid of Honor in two weddings in May, and I’m determined not to be the fat bridesmaid!!!!! Thank you God for providing the money for this, and thank you to my wonderful supportive husband. : )
Skinny here it come!!!!!!

1 Yoplait Light yogurt with ¾ cup grapenuts
2 Bowls of Mac and Cheese (3-3 ½ cups)
1 Fiber + Bar

5-6 Strawberries for dessert
1 Grande non-fat White Chocolate Mocha
1 Yoplait Light yogurt with ¾ cups grapenuts
5 1-liter water bottles
Steps-
Totally- 10,050
I took two 1,500 step walks with the dog, and then walked to and from Starbucks with Phil (1.5 miles round trip)

March 2nd- The start of a Food Journal...
One thing that my dr told me was to get a pedometer. She told me that a Dr friend of hers told his patients to walk 10,000 steps every day. He didn't care how they did it, he just wanted them to get moving! So, I thought that was a great idea! I ordered two from Amazon. One for $1 and one for $6. I figured that if they both actually worked, I could give one to my hubby. I wore both for them for a little bit and found that the $6 pedometer told me that I had taken about 50 steps, which seemed right. The $1 pedometer told me I had taken 245... haha! I had to laugh. So, it was into the trash for that $1 wasted. Yesterday I wore it all day long, and here's my results to start from:
March 1st, 171.0 punds, 7,700 steps.
March 1st, 171.0 punds, 7,700 steps.
Let's get the party started!!!
Alright, so I went to my lady doctor about a month ago. Long story short she really got onto me about my weight. I knew that I had gained quite a bit after crash dieting for the wedding, but I didn’t think it was that much. Then I finally did the math. I had gained thirty pounds since the wedding. In 11 months, I had put on THIRTY POUNDS!! And why do you ask? Because all we do is sit and watch movies and eat. We eat out at lunch, dinner, with friends, have parties where we eat and drink… it’s ridiculous. But then, she told me that for my height, I’m FORTY POUNDS overweight.
Now let me be clear on one thing. I LOVE my doctor, and I know she likes me : ) But she laid out some really simple yet horrible truths.
1. My family has always struggled with weight. Mostly on my mothers side, but we have heart conditions, diabetes, and cholesterol problems…. All of which I can help prevent in me if I get my weight down now.
2. When I start having babies, I’m going to gain even more weight. And it’s going to be almost impossible for me to loose it all after, especially if I have another one within the next two years. I won’t be able to have the time do devote to getting my weight under control like I do now. Life is only going to get busier.
3. If I ever want to get skinny, this is the time to do it. There are no excuses, it’s all decision that I’m making and I need to start making the right ones.
With that said, I left totally motivated!!! I had already cut out all soft drinks starting on January 4th, and I decided to cut out other things too. I also decided to really start researching gyms and find one that I really liked, and find other ways to exercise.
So this blog is going to keep track of all my exercise, food that I eat, and any struggles that I might have…. Ok, most definitely will have…. Along the way!!! Woo Hoo!!!!
My short-term goals are:
1. Drink at least five water bottles a day.
2. Loose 5 ponds every month.
3. Work out at least 3 times a week.
Here are my long-term goals:
1. By January 2012, get down to a healthy weight of 135-140.
2. By Summer 2011, feel good in whatever kind of bathing suit this summer.
3. By Summer 2012, get into my first ever bikini : ) Maybe even a polka dot one!!
Lord willing, we’ll get there!!!
